The Challenge

Founded in 2000, STEM Racing is a global nonprofit with participants in over 60 countries. The challenge involves teams of 3-6 kids aged between 9-19 to design a 1/20th size Formula 1 car to race. The car is powered by a CO2 canister and can reach speeds of up to 50 mph. STEM Racing invites students to explore skills including design, graphics, CAD, CFD, marketing, and especially teamwork. Supported by Formula 1, STEM Racing engages students around the world to be future science and technology leaders.
